APLINK's Virtual World Journey so far...plus 345mi investment

keep dreaming - itsReal

twinity globe...3D online world

Many people around me in Singapore thought i was being silly even careless in my unstoppable pursuit above everything else to be a part of a new technology called virtual worlds. I did not chase my normal business, and so was not filling the sales funnel like a normal business must do - at the same time i became aware how social media delivers results that are astounding.... First came the virtual world Second Life - and how i tried to impress the creators Linden Labs that I was their man in Asia - it went so far but as with most things there was much more happening in the US to bother about Andrew in this tiny island called Singapore.

..In July 2007 I had the opportunity to attend the state of play conference - it was all about education law and other academic content in virtaul worlds - on arriving at the conference the first person i met was the EVP for Metaversum (Jeremy) creators of twinity a new virtual world firmly based in reality - real people and real places - we spent alot of time together at the conference and then he visited my office for a detailed discussion on Twinity and Asia - i am always full of ideas so i shared these with Jeremy and then he packed his bag, my ideas and went back to Berlin.

Without making myself a pest I maintained contact with Jeremy and then one fine day in Singapore (its always fine right) i got an email from Jeremy requesting a teleconference with the KEY management people within Metaversum. I was excited and shaking when the call arrived. If anyone knows me if i am passionate about something it is really hard to get me to stop talking - this was the case on the call - suddenly the CEO said "ok that's fine please prepare a document of what you can do for us and send it thru" I actually thought i had talked to much and ruined my chances - however i had a blank piece of paper to write my job role - how cool is that and how often does it happen in a lifetime... weeks went by after i submitted and then on Christmas Eve i got the good news that Metaversum wanted me to start in January 2008 - WOW what a Christmas present !!! I made an imaginary gift (not virtual) and put it under our Christmas Tree !

All the hard times pursuing business in virtual worlds had paid off = wow how did i get to write all of this - i hope you are still reading as the moral of the story is that this year $345million has been injected so far into virtual worlds development - something BIG is going to happen in a BIG way.... very soon with this engaging and immersive 3D internet experience called Virtual Worlds

- if this topic interests you the links below will lead you to more information - if also you would like to know more, as u can see from the above I will tell u anything you want to know and if i don't know i will find out for you - Give me questions !!!

Twinity rolls out a chunk of Berlin - itsReal

So real in fact, I was just talking to an avatar - 'Neva' (in world) who claimed to have been so lost in the realistically modeled streets of Twinity/Berlin that she had to alt-tab back to the desktop so she could Google map her way out. Thank God she had internet access, right?
