- Sarah is the director of communications at Elgin Community College in Elgin, Illinois. Prior to Elgin Community College, she spent five years with Advocate Health Care, the largest health care system in Illinois, as the manager of communications and government relations at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital.
Sarah brings a comprehensive background in the knowledge of non-for-profit and health care management. Her key strengths are a combination of message management, coalition building and deployment strategies. Sarah's personal mission to engage and employ the use of emerging technologies in all communication makes her effective in reaching a dynamic audience.
Philanthropy and volunteerism rank high on Sarah’s priority list. Most recently, she was appointed to the Woodridge-Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors where she also serves as the chair of the Government Affairs Committee. In addition, she serves as an advisory board member to Helping Girls Navigate Adolescence (HGNA), volunteer of Women’s Voices Illinois, and celebrates five consecutive years as a team captain of the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk.
Sarah’s career also includes extensive experience in organizational change, speechwriting, internal and crisis communication.
Sarah graduated with a degree in communications and public relations from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority, president of the Millikin Communication Organization and a recipient of a four-year talent award.
Sarah is married to Trey Evans and lives in Elgin. She is a life-long St. Louis Cardinal’s fan, enjoys reading, singing, watching sporting events and playing with their two dogs, Bella and Kacee.
